How Alexa Can Be Useful To Bloggers

I installed Google Analytics onto the site as of yesterday, so we can track what's happening around here. If you don't know what that is, it is a service that helps monitor the traffic to your blog so you can see exactly what's happening behind the scenes.

As for today in the latest article, Using Alexa As a Tool To Research Your Blog Idea, I talk about another online service, Alexa, which is a web information company and why it is useful to bloggers. Basically, if you want to know who's who and how they're performing online, this is a site to take note of.

What's more, users of the Mozilla Firefox web browser can download their toolbar. I also suggest a couple more toolbars which can help you distinguish how a site performs as a whole.
  1. WebRank Toolbar - see indexed pages and backlinks
  2. Quirk's SearchStatus Toolbar - link reports on dofollow, keyword density and more
Alexa overall makes it easy to browse their site. They are simple, easy and pretty straight-forward in their approach. Just add a meta tag, which they'll give to you once you register and claim your site. Thus, any site owner should consider joining their community and share your thoughts through reviews on what you think about your favorite blogs.

At the moment, this site is also indexed with Alexa. :)

That's it for today folks.

Yay! We're Now on Blogger and the Latest Post!

I've decided to jump into the pool with an extension of Blogging For dot INFO but now on blogger! It will more or less be 99% of what will be on the Wordpress version, just with more of Google's influence. ;)

So contrary to what many believe in blogging, despite blogger being a great place to practice expanding your online wings, it is also a nice way to spread more of your presence. There won't be any duplicate content happening here though, just summaries of the full version. Thus, no rules will be broken.

My goal then with the Blogger version is to practice what I preach.

You see, blogging as a whole consists of many platforms. I truly believe that if you want to blog and/or are passionate about it, free can be a means to start. Overall, I'm not against free blogs but I must warn you that as you get deeper, the process might ask more from you.

That's why I want you to think about the self-hosted option as well. It allows you more choices to expand your means. To start, not all of us have the funds to spare but if you're serious about reaching further than free, your own domain might be a great place to brand your growing expertise.

OK, now that you know the dilio of what's happening around this here, let's look at what's up over on the Wordpress version. The latest post is on November's Traffic in Review.

Here's a summary of what will be talked about:
  • the latest Alexa review done by Adam Paudyal from Endeavor-Online
  • the correlation between the frequency of your post and the number of comments
  • who has featured Blogging For Info on their blog
  • Alexa traffic stats and how relationship building matters
  • Google Analytics stats and relevant traffic streams
  • International influence and keywords found
  • Website grade and value
  • December goals
Check it out and tell me what you think! I also invite you to blog too and share your experience with how your blog has performed as a whole whether it's on WordPress, Blogger, Tumblr and so on.
